Pavel Rehorek went to the Czech Republic again this year with four OTTV players during the summer vacation.
But in 2024 there was another training camp before the usual training camp and subsequent tournament in Olomouc.
This took place in Havirov, about an hour's drive from Olomouc.
At the end of last year, Pavel Rehorek launched a crowd funding project "Table Tennis connects the World" with the idea of organizing a table tennis camp to bring different cultures and beliefs together. Table tennis and sport in general brings people together - all the more important in this day and age, given the hair-raising things that are happening at a political level. From July 16 to 21, the participants trained intensively under excellent training conditions at the Czech table tennis performance center. However, they also spent time together, laughing and playing - with each other and not against each other.
Also present in Havirov was the entire Czech national team and the Czech number 1: Hana Matelova.
After the first training camp was over, it was on to Olomouc, where the training camp and subsequent tournament were being held for the sixth time.
The camp was attended by 86(!) players, who trained on 30 tables in two groups.
At the tournament, there were even 140 participants from ten different countries.
